“Real taste of Italy” set for Leeds at celebrity chef’s latest venture

CELEBRITY chef Gino D’Acampo has announced he is to launch a new 150-cover restaurant in Leeds before the year is out.

It is the Italian native’s third site after opening at London Euston and the Manchester Corn Exchange.

Located on Park Row opposite Jamie’s Italian, it the two-storey restaurant replaces the Piccolino site which will be moving to larger premises in the city.

It will have a lower-ground floor cocktail and wine bar and will coincide with Gino’s TV show Gino’s Italian Escape, which will return this November.

Piccolino is an Individual Restaurant site, and Gino D’Acampo’s My Restaurant has the backing of business partner Steven Walker, founder of the Individual Restaurants group.

Gino D’Acampo said: “After months of planning for the opening, I can’t wait to welcome guests to My Restaurant, Leeds.

“Every effort has been made to make sure our guests have a true Italian experience – we’ve got some great dishes for you to try. I’m looking forward to treating Yorkshire to a real taste of Italy.”
