FD of listed building products group to retire

BUILDING products group SIG has announced that Doug Robertson will retire from the group and the board during the first quarter of 2017.  

He will be succeeded by Nick Maddock, currently chief financial officer at McCarthy & Stone.

Stuart Mitchell, group chief executive of the Sheffield-based company, said: “Doug has been with SIG as group finance director for five years, during which time he has made a significant contribution to the strategic direction of the business and overseen major operational improvements, in particular relating to our IT transformation programme.  He leaves with our very best wishes for the future.

“We are pleased to announce that Doug will be succeeded by Nick Maddock who brings with him a strong track record as a CFO and has played a key role in McCarthy & Stone’s success.  We look forward to welcoming Nick to SIG.”

Leslie Van de Walle, chairman of SIG, added: “On behalf of the board and the group, I would like to thank Doug for all that he has contributed and achieved during his time with SIG, and we wish him all the best in the next stage of his career as he grows his non-executive director portfolio.”
