People: New recruit for AWB Charlesworth Solicitors; Chamber appoints president; and more

THE new Bingley office of AWB Charlesworth has recruited property solicitor Graham Dickson.
Mr Dickson has more than 10 years’ experience in both residential and commercial property matters.
He will be specialising in residential property matters – including freehold and leasehold sales, purchases and mortgages.
Felicity Green, practice manager, said: “The appointment of Graham as property solicitor at our Bingley office further strengthens our successful property department and contributes to the growth of our Bingley office – we are delighted that he has joined us.”

BARNSLEY & Rotherham Chamber has appointed Lisa Pogson, joint managing director of Airmaster Air Conditioning, as its first female president since the 2007 Chamber merger.
Her focus as president will be on core business and continuing to build on the work that has been ongoing, such as engagement with Chamber members, infrastructure and connectivity, and collaboration across the City Region.
Andrew Denniff, chief executive at Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, said. “I am delighted that Lisa has been appointed our president and I look forward to working closely with her over the next two years, during what will be an exciting time for everyone here at the Chamber.”
Retiring president Paul Jagger was presented with his past president’s badge of office, while new appointments to the board include Anne Wilson of Numill and Mark Broxholme of Swallow Consultancy, who also becomes a vice president together with Matthew Stephens of Quest Property.

DAVID ROSS, managing director of Valeos, has been welcomed to the national board of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
The CII is the professional membership body for insurance and financial professional services and has recently launched a strategic manifesto aimed at improving public trust in the profession.
Mr Ross is currently president elect of the Insurance Institute of Leeds and is also the regional representative for the North East Region.
The appointment is with immediate effect and will run for a minimum three- year term.
Mr Ross said: “After many years of involvement with the Institute at a local level it is a great privilege to be elected to serve nationally and to have some input and influence around the board room table. I feel rather humble to be in such exalted company but I am looking forward to using my position to ensure that members’ voices are heard loud and clear and that the key messages from the CII are carried clearly back to our local membership.”
