Life sciences business unveils analytics hub as part of £600,000 investment programme

SCIENTIFIC laboratory and consultancy business Concept Life Sciences has acquired a building at a Bradford science park as part of a major investment programme amounting to more than £600,000 in the last year.

The new unit on the Lister Hills Science Park will accommodates Concept Life Sciences’ growing workforce.

The current facility which is home to Agenda1, part of the Concept Life Sciences group, comprises both laboratories and offices, and due to increasing client demand has reached full capacity.

In order to meet the increasing demand for the group’s analytical and development services, the company has invested in a 4100 sq ft building. The existing facility will now be dedicated laboratory space, increasing its laboratory capacity by 2500 sq ft, and this will become the main head office and the base for the commercial and science teams.

Agenda1 is a specialist contract analytical company delivering high quality analytical support to pharmaceutical, healthcare and medical device companies. Agenda 1 was established in 2006 by Dr Simon Bristow and Ian Siragher and quickly became a well-recognised laboratory working with a wide range of companies.

Acquired by the Concept Life Sciences Group in 2015 Agenda1 has achieved expedited growth. This looks set to continue with the company predicting a 50% increase in staff over the next 12 months.

The Concept Life Sciences Group offers a comprehensive range of services to clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, agrochemical, petrochemical, chemical, food, environmental and consumer industries.

Ian Siragher, managing director of Agenda1 said: “The new unit at Listerhills Science Park is part of a significant investment program by Concept Life Sciences amounting to more than £600,000 in the last year. The Bradford site already delivers world class scientific services and we are sure that the depth, breadth and scope of work carried out here will increase significantly in the coming years.”

Michael Fort, executive chairman of Concept Life Sciences commented “This underlines our business’s continuing commitment to building a multi-disciplinary scientific group of companies. The investment we have made in the new site in Bradford is designed to increase the focus on higher level science which impacts not only our analytical service offering but also provides valuable input onto our integrated discovery portfolio.”
