Holiday park owner stands trial over property mis-selling

Holiday park owner William Flannigan is facing trial this week over claims he sold Beverley holiday chalets as permanent homes.
Hull Crown Court heard that a number of pensioners faced eviction after being sold the chalets at the Lakeminster Park, a former caravan site.
After moving in they were asked to sign a licence agreement describing their home as a “holiday home”.
He denies 10 counts of fraud by misrepresentation.
The court heard that Flannigan was acting “deliberately” when he induced the pensioners to sell their homes elsewhere and move. According to the Hull Daily Mail, David Gordon prosecuting said that Flannigan knew “perfectly well” what he was doing.
The trial is expected to last eight weeks.
