People: Property specialist hires six; Recruitment group appoints head of new division; and more

Growing residential, commercial and education design and build specialist headoffice3 has added six staff to the team.

Sarah Jones joins as interior designer, Nikoleta Christopoulou as an architect, Michael Logue as a Southern quantity surveyor, Thalia Plessia as an architectural assistant, James Carr as architectural technician and Martin Barber as Southern managing quantity surveyor.

Luke Towning with Veritas managing director Chris Tinson. Recruitment specialist Luke Towning has been made a director at Veritas Recruitment Solutions and will now head up the company’s newly launched food manufacturing division.

Towning joined the Leeds based firm almost three years ago and has more than eight years’ worth of experience in the recruitment industry. 

Veritas was founded in 2009 by managing director Chris Tinson and since then, the company has built up a reputation recruiting across the construction, energy and property industries.  

As part of his new role, Towning will oversee the growth of the company’s food manufacturing division, which launched at the end of last year, in response to a direct approach from one of the UK’s leading retail food manufacturers.  The division now specialises in recruiting a wide range of management and senior roles, spanning production, quality control and engineering, on behalf of all types of food manufacturers.

Bradford theatre company Freedom Studios has appointed Anj Handa as chair of the board. Bradford theatre company Freedom Studios has appointed Anj Handa as chair of the board.

She replaces interim chair Nick Ellwood, who continues as vice-chair.

Artistic co-directors Alex Chisholm and Aisha Khan said: “We are delighted that Anj is joining Freedom Studios to lead and support the next stage of our development.

“These are challenging and exciting times for Bradford and for theatre, and we look forward to working together to nurture new artists and create more great art with and for all our communities.”

Anj is joined by new Trustees Rodolfo Barradas and Kamran Rashid.
