PUBLIC relations companies in Yorkshire have scooped two of the most prestigious awards in the industry.
Leeds-based Wolfstar and Saddleworth-based Pelican Public Relations beat off strong competition from PR companies throughout the UK to win two major categories at the annual Grand Prix PRide Awards run by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).
The Grand Prix comprises all the winning entries from the regional PRide Awards.
Wolfstar, which gained the best “small consultancy” award, is a public relations consultancy offering expert counsel in public relations, social media and word of mouth marketing and communications. Established just 18 months ago by Stuart Bruce and Tim Sinclair, Wolfstar is a global consultancy and works with clients all over the world, including Sony Ericsson, Philips, Fronter and the NHS.
Pelican Public Relations demonstrated that when it comes to having a clear understanding of environmental matters, Yorkshire leads the field by winning the “Not for Profit” category for its “Green is Glam” campaign.
Justin McKeown, Trimedia director and chair of the CIPR Yorkshire & Lincolnshire, said: “Success in the Grand Prix is one of the ultimate achievements in public relations, and the success of two local companies again shows how professional and creative PR is in Yorkshire.”
