Cool £2m investment sees temperature control firm launch new facility

A £50m turnover temperature control specialist is expecting to create further jobs in Bradford after opening a 30,000 sq ft facility.

The site, on the Euroway Industrial Estate, is the latest step in ICS Cool Energy’s relationship with Bradford, having opened its first office in the city when the business was established in 1989.

The new facility, which replaces the previous site at Caspian House, East Parade, represents a £2m investment from the privately-owned company. It comprises 5,000 sq ft office and training areas, 25,000 sq ft warehouse and equipment servicing and test facilities, together with yard and car parking spaces.

With its head office in Southampton, the company employs some 250 people nationwide and at offices throughout Europe, with 40 employees based at Bradford. It is anticipated that further jobs in the city will be created as the business continues its expansion programme.

It was business founders Jeff Spolnik and Phil Wilson who recognised the strategic importance of the location in ICS Cool Energy’s early days, as they looked for a second site to support customers in the north of the country.

Spolnik said: “As a Bradford man, I’m particularly proud of this latest move to bigger premises which is our sixth move in the city over a period of nearly 30 years. It demonstrates our commitment to the area as we’re looking ahead to yet more steady growth, with Bradford representing an important business hub for the UK.

“This most recent expansion of our UK operation will enable us to be even more responsive to our customers not just in the home market but through our group businesses in Ireland, Germany, Benelux, Switzerland and France. We’ve an ambitious growth programme to deliver efficient and effective heating and cooling solutions to a vast array of industrial sectors.”
