Entrepreneur swings towards success with Monkey Mill gym concept

A Leeds-based entrepreneur is not hanging around in 2017 after launching a motorised monkey bar machine offering a unique mix of cardiovascular and strength conditioning which has already attracted the attention of the Ministry of Defence.

Four years in the making, Monkey Mill is an innovative gym piece which will launch in Leeds in the spring and then showcased at various gyms, military bases and mud run events such as Total Warrior up and down the country to give fitness fanatics an opportunity to put it to the test.

The man behind Monkey Mill, Mike McKenna, has been working tirelessly over the past four years to get the product to its final stages of design.

McKenna has now launched CrowdCube campaign to take the product to market.

He says: “Over the last four years I worked hard to build and develop a unique fitness proposition that differentiates itself from other gym equipment pieces in the market place. I am now really looking forward to the launch of this Crowdcube campaign.

“We have launched this Crowdcube campaign to help fund key elements of the business in the run up to launching the product, and to deliver an exciting marketing campaign. We are looking to raise £150,000 and we want to build a group of loyal shareholders, so that we can take this exciting journey together.”

Monkey Mill has already been recognised as an innovative piece of gym equipment by Men’s Health and the MOD is also sounding out the product for its personnel.
