1. Casanova casanova
Date: Until Saturday March 18
Location: Leeds Grand Theatre
This Saturday the world première of Northern Ballet’s Casanova will grace the stage of Leeds Grand Theatre. Consumed by his desires, Casanova lived every minute in a whirlwind of scandal and excess. But there’s more to the man. With choreography by Kenneth Tindall, this original production will expose the sensational 18th century tale in the form of a spine-tingling ballet.

shefest2. SheFest
Date: Until Sunday March 12

The city-wide fringe festival celebrating International Women’s Day is returning to Sheffield this week, featuring a programme of inclusive events. Guests are invited to come together, learn, explore, discuss and have fun with a wide range of events on offer including ten workshops at the main event on Saturday.

You’ll watch them compete week after week for your vote – and now you can see the X Factor finalists perform their biggest hits in a local arena. 4. Hessle Craft Beer & Cider Festival
Date: Friday March 10 – Saturday March 11

The first Hessle Craft Beer and Cider Festival will be taking place this weekend in the heart of Hessle as part of the Hull City of Culture. Featuring a range of local ale, cider and a full music line up throughout the weekend, it is the perfect opportunity to experience good beer and celebrate up and coming local talent.

5. Walk the walks walk the walk
Date: Saturday March 11
Location: York Rail station, York
The average child in East Africa walks 6.8km to school every morning. This weekend, in aid of charity, a group of people will be walking that same distance along York’s city walls, whilst dressed as their favourite childhood TV or film characters. Starting at York train station at 11am, the walk hopes to remove the obstacles that children face to health and education by raising money through sponsorship.
