Law firm to snap up specialist creating £80m legal business

Stewarts Law is allegedly in talks to snap up specialist commercial litigation firm Enyo Law.

The deal would add £20m to the firm’s revenue, which combined would reach £80m.

Enyo was founded in 2010 by former Addleshaw Goddard partners Simon Twigden, Pietro Marino and Michael Green. It saw revenue jump 27% last year to £21m.

It is believed the deal will be finalised before the end of the financial year, in April, according to Legal Business.

Stewarts Law declined to comment when contacted by TheBusinessDesk. The firm has sites in Leeds, London and New York.

It recently represented major retailers including Asda, Debenhams and Morrisons against Mastercard in a legal battle over claims the payments giant overcharged for interchange payments which are charged to shops by credit and debit card issuers.

Stewarts saw double digit revenue growth in 2015/16, rising 17% to £61.3m, and it was also listed in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work for list 2017.
