Royal Armouries interim CEO appointed

THE Royal Armouries Museum has appointed Janice Murray, currently head of cultural planning at the National Railway Museum in York, as its interim chief executive.
Ms Murray, who joined the NRM six years ago as deputy head of museum, has been seconded to the Royal Armouries for four days a week, pending the appointment of a full-time chief executive.
Her appointment follows the resignation in October of Paul Evans, the former chief executive.
Chairman of the Royal Armouries, Ann Green, said: “After the disruption of the past few months, it is important that the museum’s momentum is resumed and I am confident that Janice will help in this process. She is enormously experienced, having been in the cultural sector all her career.”
Ms Murray added: “The Royal Armouries is a world class museum and I am very much looking forward to working with the strong team there over the next few months.”
Search and selection consultancy NRG has been asked to select candidates for chief executive and advertisements for the post will appear in January.
