THE formation of the new Lloyds Banking Group following the tie-up between Lloyds TSB and HBOS was rubber-stamped yesterday by a court in Edinburgh.
The move will see taxpayers owning almost half of the new ‘superbank’ after investors shunned the two lenders’ £13bn fundraising plans.

WORD of mouth specialist Finn Communications has won the R&R Ice Cream PR account in a three-way competitive pitch, and recruited two new staff to its operation.
The Leeds-based agency will take over from Publicasity to handle all press office and creative consumer and trade PR for Richmond-based R&R’s entire brand portfolio, including Fab, Skinny Cow and Mivvi.
The nine-strong agency specialises in generating positive word of mouth for national and regional brands through digital, experiential and media relations.
Finn, based at the Round Foundry Media Centre, has expanded its team with the appointment of James Newman who has joined as account director from Ptarmigan, where he managed the Diageo and Virgin Media accounts, while Julia Round joins as senior account executive, also from Ptarmigan.

A HARROGATE-based organisational development consultancy is continuing its international expansion after being commissioned by global shipping company Interorient.
Primeast is delivering a leadership development programme, which includes a series of workshops at Interoient’s Cyprus headquarters, to 25 senior managers from across its international offices.
