PETER Gomersall has taken on the role of senior manager in employer solutions at the Leeds office of Grant Thornton, specialising in PAYE/NIC in both compliance and cost reduction after leaving his role as a senior manager in the human resource team at PwC.
Joanne Powell has also moved from one of the ‘Big Four’ after spending nine years at KPMG’s corporate tax department to take on a management role in the corporate tax team at Grant Thornton.
Mr Gomersall said: “One of the reasons for joining Grant Thornton is that since leaving HMRC during February 1998, I’ve been in the profession for 12 years with first KPMG and then PwC dealing mainly with FTSE clients so it’s great to move into a firm that not only services FTSE clients but also the owner managed business market where you’re predominantly speaking directly with the decision makers.”
