Appointments: Hire for Langleys; Clive Owen & Co adds to IT team; and more

ROB Ripley has joined York-based Langleys’ commercial team as head of dispute resolution.

His previous role was head of litigation and dispute resolution at Keeble Hawson.

Mr Ripley has specialised in all areas of commercial disputes for over 19 years and provides advice on contract disputes of all kinds including contracts for the supply of goods and services, shareholder/partnership/director disputes, disputes arising from the sale and purchase of businesses and the termination of employment.

Managing partner David Thompson said: “Rob is an important hire for us as his experience will further strengthen the capabilities of the dispute resolution team.”

Clive Owen & Co Scott VieiraYORK-based accountancy group Clive Owen & Co has expanded its IT division with a new appointment.

The company has hired Scott Vieira, who joins the firm as IT consultant.

Mr Vieira specialises in software development and in creating bespoke systems for clients.

Lee Huck, IT director, said: “I am delighted Scott has joined the team. We are very excited about the future and we need to give the best possible service. Scott has extremely valuable experience and his all round knowledge will be a major asset to the business going forward.”

Wakefield AcousticsWEST Yorkshire noise control specialists Wakefield Acoustics has presented a number of long service awards to its staff and made a series of new appointments as it marks its 30th anniversary.

The company, now based in Cleckheaton, has handed the role of technical director to Steve Watson, who has been with the company for more than 14 years.

Huddersfield University graduate Matthew Shard, who worked with the company during his sandwich year, has now joined the as trainee project engineer to assist with the Wakefield Acoustics sales growth.

The company presented four employees, Ian Fisher, Ian Hargreaves, Robert Furniss and Steve Watson with long service awards.
