Leaitherland re-appointed to lead DWF

ANDREW Leaitherland has been re-appointed as managing partner at law firm DWF for his second three-year term, in an unopposed election by the firm’s partners.
Mr Leaitherland’s first appointment to the post in January 2006 made him one of the country’s youngest managing partners at the age of 36, and the firm’s first managing partner since its establishment in 1977.
Since joining DWF in 1997, he has overseen the merger with Ricksons in January 2007, which gave DWF new offices in Leeds and Preston in addition to those in Liverpool and Manchester.
He said: “I am personally delighted in the confidence that my partners have shown in me by re-appointing me for a further three years unopposed.
“DWF has grown substantially in terms of both size and stature over the last three years.
“Although we are now in a more difficult economic climate, we remain positive. We have a clear strategy moving forward and are continuing to make progress towards our goal of becoming a UK top 30 law firm.”
