House of Commons Speaker to address businesses
BUSINESSES in Yorkshire are being invited to a Bonfire Night event with the Speaker of House of Commons in York to hear about the relationship between businesses and parliament.
John Bercow will address guests, at a free event organised by Leeds, York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, on Friday November 5, which will provide businesses in York the opportunity to directly engage with one of the UK’s most prominent politicians.
Susie Cawood, head of York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Fittingly, John Bercow is coming to the birthplace of Guy Fawkes on Bonfire Night in what is the latest of a series of high-profile speaker events organised by the Chamber.
“He will discuss how businesses can engage with parliament and get involved with its processes. This is a chance for business to hear directly from the Speaker of the House of Commons and promises to be an interesting meeting with plenty of opportunity for discussion and debate.”
The event is taking place between 3.30pm and 5pm at De Grey Court, York St John Business School. For further information email events@yourchamber.org , call the Chamber Events Team on 01904 567 8383 or 0113 247 0000 or visit www.yourchamber.org.uk.
