In Brief: Healthcare showcased, broadband speed tops poll, and more

THE best of Yorkshire and the Humber’s healthcare technologies industry has been put on show to a delegation of global trade advisers to help raise the region’s profile for inward investment.

The delegation of 14 UK Trade and Investment advisers from the United States, Japan, Europe and the Middle East were in the region as part of a fact finding tour of the North. 

As part of their tour the delegates visited Hull, the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham and the University of Leeds.

The visiting advisers work in international markets, advising businesses who are looking to invest in the UK of the different opportunities on offer in the regions.

LEEDS has been revealed as one of the UK’s top 10 hotspots for the best business broadband speeds, as part of a report released today by Opal, the provider of communication technologies for small and growing businesses.

The Opal Office Broadband report commissioned by Opal, the business-to-business division of The TalkTalk Group, revealed the hotspots across the UK, when it comes to business broadband speeds. 

Nationally Leeds led the way, with almost a third of the city’s businesses able to achieve a connection of between 8 and 24Mbps.

INTERNATIONAL sportswear brand Prostar, which has its base in Wakefield, has continued its commitment to grassroots football by
agreeing a strategic partnership with Soccersixes, the UK’s largest network of Football Association affiliated small sided football
leagues.

The deal sees the Soccersixes leagues renamed The Prostar Leagues, providing the UK’s leading grassroots football brand the
opportunity to extend its brand reach into another grassroots football sector.

The Prostar Leagues has more than 250 leagues throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
