Van Mildert opens Harrogate store

FASHION store chain Van Mildert has launched its sixth store in Harrogate.
The outlet, in Princes Street, is the second in Yorkshire to be opened by brothers Eric and Cyril Williams and employs five staff.
Eric Williams said: “We wanted to expand the Van Mildert brand, offering people further afield the opportunity to experience the in-store shopping experience our customers further north enjoy.
“Until now fashion conscious customers in Harrogate had to travel to Leeds and beyond to satisfy their shopping needs, or buy from Van Mildert online. Now they have some of the strongest and most relevant fashion collections in the world on their doorstep.”
The company began with a store in Durham and now has a second in the city as well as further shops in Darlington, York and Gateshead.
Cyril Williams said: “Since Delima bought Van Mildert in 2007, we have reinvigorated the business and significantly grown the brand, opening two stores in the MetroCentre and Darlington.
“In spite of the recession people still want top quality brands and top quality customer service. We are passionate about what we do, and it shows.
“People want the personal shopping experience our dedicated, expert staff can provide. They don’t just want to own the latest pieces by the best designers, they want the bespoke customer service we provide in helping them create the look by putting products together.”
