Filtrona wraps up deal

SPECIALITY plastic and fibre products supplier Filtrona has acquired Yorkshire-based adhesive tapes manufacturer Stera Holdings.
Filtrona has bought the company, which trades as Steratape and is based in Bridlington, from family and employee shareholders.
Steratape manufactures high quality speciality adhesive tapes and Filtrona said it was highly complementary to Duraco, a business within Filtrona’s protection and finishing products division.
Gross assets acquired are approximately £2.6m.
Mark Harper, Chief Executive of Filtrona, said: “The acquisition of Steratape is an excellent addition to Duraco, the speciality adhesive tapes business acquired in 2007.
“Steratape has a strong reputation for producing high quality double sided transfer and tissue tapes and these products will significantly enhance Duraco’s product offering both in the US and Europe.
“This acquisition demonstrates Filtrona’s commitment to build on its strong market positions and leverage its commercial model and global infrastructure to achieve growth. We welcome Steratape’s employees to Filtrona.”
Steratape has been manufacturing double sided tapes for more than half a century and the brand is known in more than 70 countries.
