Table Table comes to Barnsley

HOSPITALITY group Whitbread is to introduce its new restaurant brand, Table Table, at Barnsley’s Gateway Plaza development.
Work has started on the hotel, bar and restaurant at the site.
Last year Whitbread confirmed that it had signed a deal with Quest Property and Landmark Development Projects to deliver a 110 bed Premier Inn with associated restaurant and bar at the Gateway Plaza mixed-use scheme.
As Browns Construction Group commenced work on the hotel, Whitbread unveiled that its selected restaurant brand for the development is its Table Table concept.
Table Table launched across the country last May with more than 100 restaurants.
In the restaurant there will be intimate dining areas for romantic dinners for two as well as large party areas in separate rooms for groups of friends and family to get together.
Browns Construction Group has been appointed to undertake the development and fit-out of the hotel, with Whitbread undertaking the fit-out of Table Table and the bar.
The hotel and restaurant are due to open to the public in November.
Kevin Murray, regional acquisitions manager at Whitbread, said: “We believe Premier Inn and Table Table will be in high demand from the people of Barnsley and visitors to the area. Gateway Plaza is a superb location for us and somewhere we can build a strong future.”
Matthew Stephens, development manager at Quest Property, said: “With work now underway on the hotel, Gateway Plaza is transforming on a daily basis.
“Whitbread’s Table Table concept will bring a new, varied and exciting dining concept to the people of Barnsley and we are looking forward to the launch of this and the hotel later in the year.”
