New website is icing on the cake

A YORKSHIRE digital agency is behind a bakery’s first e-commerce store.

Award-winning Magnitude has developed and launched a vibrant new website for London mail order business English Cheesecake Company, which is going down a treat with users across the country.

The brief included creating a new brand identity which is integral to the website and digital marketing campaign and will be rolled out across all off-line marketing activity and packaging.

Alan Laurier, joint managing director of the English Cheesecake Company, said:”Our brand, website and e-commerce system are critical to our ongoing growth and enable us to maximise online retailing opportunities.

“Thanks to Magnitude’s creative flair and technical skills, our online marketing strategy is boosting sales with the first sale coming within 30 minutes of the website being launched.”

The Harrogate-based agency drew on its own e-commerce system, Activistore, which provides online retailers with a cost effective and robust internet sales function, for the commission.

The programme caters for future modifications and upgrades and links into English Cheesecake’s existing stock management and payment systems.

Jude Turner, client services director of Magnitude, said: “English Cheesecake recognised that having a flexible brand which can integrate with creative on and off-line marketing activities is vital to success.

“The web infrastructure and brand identity were designed with sales growth as key objectives.”

Magnitude has amassed a strong reputation for developing digital marketing campaigns. Its string of successes includes winning two Webby awards for Wagamama, and securing recent commissions from Land Rover and confectionary giant M&Ms.
