Gas company hits £1m turnover milestone

COST conscious companies are helping fuel the growth of Leeds-based gas supplier Innergy LPG.
Turnover for the current financial year – the company’s third since it was founded – is set to exceed £1m.
According to Gez Walsh, commercial director at Innergy, the current economic climate offers opportunities to ambitious companies with good value services and products.
“We are finding that the current harsh economic climate is actually bringing some advantages to our company,” he said.
“With the threat of redundancy now very real, businesses are keen to improve their buying, impress the boss, and reduce the overhead. Suddenly every penny counts.”
The last few months have seen Innergy, which won last year’s NatWest Start-Up Awards, grow rapidly with the acquisition of the Leeds Calor Gas Centre on Whitehall Road in Leeds and its appointment as main agent for Air Liquide Industrial Gases – a world leader in the manufacturer and supply of industrial and medical gases.
Acquisition has always been part of Innergy’s growth plans with the takeover of IC Greens in Knaresborough being the first in 2006.
The firm supplies more than 1,200 business customers including British Airways, Morrison’s, Seabrook Crisps, Britvic, Arla and Sam Smiths Brewery.
It recently announced their expansion in to the supply of bulk LPG.
