Tapmagic is perfect fit for Straight

ENVIRONMENTAL products and services company Straight has acquired a company that produces water saving tap inserts for basin taps.

Leeds-based group originally bought 30% of Tapmagic’s share capital in March 2007 for £35,000 and has now acquired its remaining shares for a further £92,000.

Straight said the addition of Tapmagic’s range of water saving devices to Straight’s portfolio would enhance its offering to its utility company clients, at a time when many are issuing free water saving equipment such as tap inserts to their customers.

Retailers are also selling the Ipswich-based company’s range, and Straight believes there are opportunities to leverage Tapmagic to the group’s existing garden and hardware customers.

Jonathan Straight, chief executive of Straight, said: “Whilst Tapmagic may be a relatively small investment for the group, its dual flow concept is uniquely attractive and differentiates the product from other water saving devices.

“The quality of product from Tapmagic complements Straight’s current product line and we are very pleased to welcome this new addition to the company.”
