FENNER has this morning announced the sudden death of non-executive director David Campbell.

Mr Campbell, a former chief executive of British Vita, had been chairman of Fenner’s remuneration committee for the last five years.

In a statement, Fenner said Mr Campbell had died suddenly on November 29.

The statement said: “His loss will be deeply felt by everyone who worked with David in the company and he will be much missed.  Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this very sad time.”

Fenner chairman Colin Cooke added: “David Campbell was a much liked and respected man.  He had served the company well over the last five years and will be sorely missed by all his colleagues.”

The company said David Buttfield had agreed to continue as senior independent director for a further three years while Alan Wood will take over as chairman of the remuneration committee.
