Andy Wood

As the Managing Partner of our Yorkshire & North East region as well as Grant Thornton UK’s Head of Ethics, I’m passionate about supporting our firm, our clients, our people and our communities to be the best they can be.

I’m an experienced audit partner of nearly 20 years and during my career I’ve worked with a broad range of businesses in the region – listed, private equity backed and entrepreneurial groups – and have built a reputation for building great relationships and delivering advice in a pragmatic, commercial fashion both as an adviser and undertaking significant leadership roles across our firm.

As Head of Ethics for Grant Thornton UK, I’m also responsible for building and leading a strong ethical culture within the firm, embedding robust procedures and ensuring we maintain the highest standards for our clients, colleagues and regulators. Integrity and ethical behaviours are at the foundation of Grant Thornton’s culture and I am proud to lead this team and drive forward our continued commitment in this area. I’m also a member of the ICAEW’s Ethics Standards Committee.

I’m a trained coach and a governor at Woodhouse Grove School. I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and walking as well as being an avid sports fan.
