Chris Archer

Chris has significant Corporate Finance advisory experience involving M&A and raising debt and equity capital. He has worked in the Yorkshire market since 2004, which includes ten years of Corporate Banking and Private Equity experience acting in principal roles and in 2015 was offered a return to advisory work. His early career comprised many sleepless nights working in Investment Banking in the City (IPOs, M&A, rescues and bond issues) and then later in Big 4 Corporate Finance roles in London, Singapore and Australia. Prior to joining Armstrong Watson in 2020, Chris was a Corporate Finance Partner with FRP Advisory, the restructuring house, also in Yorkshire.

Chris has worked with a full range of SME to FTSE-100 sized clients, including BUPA, Kingfisher, Sainsbury’s and Raffles in Singapore. He has a clear preference for working with smaller businesses where there is much closer contact with the business owners and has worked with clients in a range of sectors such as Consumer Markets, Food & Drink and Technology. He was also UK Head of Food & Drink for a Bank which involved supporting the relationship teams from Inverness to Penzance with sector analysis and support in presentations.

When he is not providing support to Yorkshire businesses, he has an active interest in golf, mountain biking and ski-ing.  He also has an embryonic interest in cooking and follows the stock market very closely.
