{"id":2137370,"date":"2025-04-09T11:00:28","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T10:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/yorkshire\/?p=2137370"},"modified":"2025-04-07T18:47:43","modified_gmt":"2025-04-07T17:47:43","slug":"building-work-restarts-for-affordable-homes-in-york","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/yorkshire\/news\/2137370-building-work-restarts-for-affordable-homes-in-york","title":{"rendered":"Building work restarts for affordable homes in York"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Building work has restarted at Hutton Bank in Ripon to provide 37 affordable homes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The project, which will deliver homes for affordable rent, rent to buy, and shared ownership, had faced some delays after the original contractor entered insolvency,<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, Yorkshire Housing has announced that its new contractor, Jack Lunn, has now started work on site.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hutton Bank is a key development for Yorkshire Housing, turning a former warehouse site into high-quality homes in an area of high housing demand. With support from Homes England, this scheme will help more people find an affordable place to live in Ripon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Steve Harrison, senior project manager at Yorkshire Housing, said: \u201cIt\u2019s great to see work restarting at Hutton Bank, and we\u2019re looking forward to delivering these new homes for the community. We know there\u2019s a real demand for affordable housing in North Yorkshire, and this development will help more people get onto the housing ladder or access secure, affordable rent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The scheme originally secured outline planning permission from Harrogate Borough Council in 2021, with the newly formed North Yorkshire Council now overseeing the area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">It\u2019s hoped the development will be completed by the end of October 2026.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:
