{"id":2137388,"date":"2025-04-08T10:56:57","date_gmt":"2025-04-08T09:56:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/yorkshire\/?p=2137388"},"modified":"2025-04-08T10:56:57","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T09:56:57","slug":"clear-cut-investment-for-glass-company","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/yorkshire\/news\/2137388-clear-cut-investment-for-glass-company","title":{"rendered":"Clear cut investment for glass company"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">A Yorkshire glass manufacturer has invested \u00a31.2m into new equipment to boost sales and drive efficiencies at its Huddersfield site.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Specialist Glass Products\u00a0has acquired the processing machine after receiving \u00a3840,000 in funding from\u00a0Lombard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The company is the first in the UK to acquire this machine at a jumbo size, allowing for larger-scale production.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The installation of the new machine is expected to see Specialist Glass Products increase turnover to \u00a315m within two years, with sales growing by at least 10% per annum.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Andrew Taylor, managing director at Specialist Glass Products, said: \u201cThe machine will help us streamline processes with automated services, enabling us to produce high-quality units more efficiently. Specifically, it will allow us to achieve excellent edge finishes more quickly and consistently, which ultimately benefits our customers by offering competitive lead times and maintaining the high standards of quality they expect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The new machine is multi-functional and can polish, grind, cut, and shape glass into any form. It also allows production of 120 fully finished panels daily.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Andrew added: \u201cThis new processing machine is part of our broader strategic investment plan and highlights our commitment to pushing the boundaries of glass processing. Following on from our significant \u00a31.75 million investment in 2023\/24, which saw the acquisition of a jumbo cutting machine, two polishing machines (both vertical and horizontal), and a CNC processor, this new addition further strengthens our capabilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt will not only streamline our capacity but also positions us to lead in delivering cutting-edge solutions to meet evolving market demands. It\u2019s an exciting step forward in our mission to innovate, diversify, and grow sustainably.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Specialist
