A Yorkshire \u00a0law firm has advised one of the largest fishing companies in the Falkland Islands on its acquisition of container vessel, MV Unispirit.<\/p>\n
Andrew Jackson Solicitors acted for Consolidated Fisheries Limited (CFL) on the purchase of the island\u2019s first container vessel which was handed over in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo.<\/p>\n
The vessel was bought from Hamburg-based shipping company UNIATLANTICO and builds on long-standing relationships with Falkland Islands’ shipping partners.<\/p>\n
CFL chairman, James Wallace, said: \u201cThe acquisition structure establishes a new CFL interest in the Hamburg shipping sector, opening new connections and expertise and creating a platform for future growth.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe vessel will continue to be chartered to South American Atlantic Service Limited(SAAS), so the service will continue as we are all familiar with. This investment is,<\/p>\n
\u00a0however, important as it helps secure the Falkland Islands\u2019 shipping link, which is significant given how scarce suitable vessels are for the island\u2019s trade.\u201d<\/p>\n
