{"id":2141722,"date":"2025-07-24T08:03:12","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T07:03:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/yorkshire\/?p=2141722"},"modified":"2025-07-24T08:03:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T07:03:12","slug":"joinery-company-reaps-investment-rewards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/yorkshire\/news\/2141722-joinery-company-reaps-investment-rewards","title":{"rendered":"Joinery company reaps investment rewards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Strategic investment by joinery group Howdens has boosted profits as the company gears up for a strong second half.<\/p>\n<p>The East Yorkshire company reported a 4.3% hike in sales in the first of 2025 to \u00a3997.6m, while pre-tax profits increased by 4.4% to \u00a3117.2m following a \u00a311m investment programme.<\/p>\n<p>Howdens said the investment has further increased its market share on the back of \u2018well executed promotions and sales incentives\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Its balance sheet remains strong with \u00a3321.4m of cash at the end of the period. Howdens reported a 2% hike in its interim dividend to 5p per share, adding it is on track with its 2025 expectations.<\/p>\n<p>Howdens CEO, Andrew Livingston, said: \u201cHowdens performed well in the first half, gaining further market share. The ongoing investment in our strategic initiatives is strengthening our competitive position, and our current trading performance gives us confidence in achieving our full year plans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are well prepared for the second half, which includes our seasonally important peak trading period. This includes Howdens&#8217; best-ever line-up for kitchens, available for 2025 in more colours, styles, and finishes to suit all budgets. While market conditions remain challenging, our trade customers are highly skilled at winning work in such times backed by Howdens&#8217; well-incentivised depot teams, unrivalled product quality and
