Insulation and building supplies firm SIG has reported a stable third quarter, with flat like-for-like revenue compared to the same period last year, as the building materials supplier continues to weather weak construction markets across Europe.<\/p>\n
In a trading update for the three months to 30 September 2025, the Sheffield-headquartered group said year-to-date LFL growth remains at 1%, supported by a 1% rise in volumes, although pricing pressure offset gains, leading to a net 1% reduction in prices.<\/p>\n
SIG said that demand across its core markets \u201cremains well below historical levels,\u201d with European construction still at a low point in the cycle. However, the business continues to outperform its markets, maintaining cost discipline and improving working capital efficiency.<\/p>\n
The company\u2019s UK Interiors division once again delivered standout performance, achieving overall LFL growth despite what it called a \u201cnegative market backdrop.\u201d The French operations saw their decline ease to 2%, while Germany experienced an unexpected 5% LFL drop.<\/p>\n
The group also highlighted \u201cgood progress\u201d on operational initiatives, particularly in cost reduction and efficiency, noting that the UK and Benelux divisions continue to benefit from restructuring and self-help measures introduced last year.<\/p>\n
SIG\u2019s outlook for full year underlying operating profit remains unchanged, with performance expected to be in line with market expectations.<\/p>\n
Newly appointed chief executive Pim Vervaat, who took over earlier this month, said: \u201cI have been impressed with the energy, commitment and knowledge of the many people I have met across the group so far. I am also pleased to see the robust trading performance in continued difficult market circumstances, and the strong focus of the teams on managing both costs and working capital.\u201d<\/p>\n
