Glenbrook Investments has completed the \u00a32.7m disposal of a prime retail property in Leeds city centre, marking another transaction for the firm\u2019s growing investment portfolio.<\/p>\n
The 8,037 sq ft freehold unit, located at 5\u20136 Commercial Street, has been sold to Berens Group. The building occupies a prominent double-fronted position on one of Leeds\u2019 busiest pedestrianised streets, just 25 metres from the Trinity shopping centre.<\/p>\n
Originally acquired from Legal & General in 2023 when it was let to jeweller Goldsmiths, Glenbrook oversaw a full refurbishment and secured Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen as the new tenant. The US fried chicken brand signed a 15-year full repairing and insuring (FRI) lease with no break options, producing an annual rent of \u00a3190,000.<\/p>\n
The restaurant opened in early 2025 to strong demand, with queues forming along Commercial Street.<\/p>\n
