{"id":2145341,"date":"2025-10-21T07:36:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-21T06:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/yorkshire\/?p=2145341"},"modified":"2025-10-21T07:36:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T06:36:08","slug":"chesterfield-special-cylinders-lifts-profit-outlook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/yorkshire\/news\/2145341-chesterfield-special-cylinders-lifts-profit-outlook","title":{"rendered":"Chesterfield Special Cylinders lifts profit outlook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"296\" data-end=\"526\">Sheffield-based Chesterfield Special Cylinders (CSC) has reported a strong year of trading, with profits and revenues both ahead of expectations, driven by growth in overseas defence work and hydrogen projects.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"528\" data-end=\"838\">For the 52 weeks to 27 September 2025, the company expects to post adjusted EBITDA of around \u00a30.8m, up from a \u00a30.9m loss in FY24, on revenues of around \u00a316.5m compared to \u00a314.8m last year. CSC\u00a0 also ended the year with net cash of \u00a32.1m, compared with net borrowings of \u00a30.9m a year earlier.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"1116\">The business, which designs and manufactures high-pressure gas containment systems, saw strong performance from overseas defence contracts secured earlier in the year. This helped offset lower revenue from UK naval new-build projects that are now nearing completion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1118\" data-end=\"1309\">CSC also recorded record full-year revenue from its Integrity Management services for UK naval clients and from its hydrogen sector contracts, which continue to expand.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1311\" data-end=\"1609\">Looking ahead, the company said its robust defence order book and &#8216;significant opportunities&#8217; in the UK hydrogen market support expectations for further earnings growth in FY26. It is currently working with key developers on new build contracts for hydrogen storage and transport systems.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1611\" data-end=\"1714\">The company will publish its FY25
