Towngate plc has welcomed two new tenants to its landmark Parkview House in Brighouse, West Yorkshire – including the world-renowned Clifton and Lightcliffe Subscription Band Association, which has relocated for the first time in almost a century.

The move marks a significant milestone for the 186-year-old brass band, which has taken an 820 sq ft suite on the second floor of the refurbished property. The relocation follows the redevelopment of the group’s long-term base in Bailiff Bridge, where it had been rooted since the 1930s.

The band – established in 1838 and recognised internationally for its performances across Europe and the United States – now benefits from a purpose-designed space including rehearsal areas, instrument storage and meeting facilities, within the wider Woodvale Office Park complex.

Jane Clay, secretary of the Clifton and Lightcliffe Subscription Band Association, said: “After almost a century in our previous home, finding the right new space was crucial. Parkview House offers everything we need to support both our senior and B band, as well as accommodate our instruments, uniforms, and over 2,000 sets of music.

“Towngate and the Smith family have been incredibly supportive throughout the process – it’s a fantastic setting for the next chapter in our band’s story.”

Also joining Parkview House is award-winning financial advisory firm Cream Financial Solutions, which has taken a 2,040 sq ft ground-floor suite on a five-year lease. The Wolverhampton-headquartered business, which operates three regional branches, says its new Brighouse base represents a key part of its northern expansion strategy.

Parkview House – a former 19th-century silk mill – forms part of Woodvale Office Park, a sympathetically restored development combining period architecture with modern workspace. The site offers easy access to the M62 corridor and Brighouse railway station.

Julia Ford, marketing manager at Towngate plc, said: “These two lettings really demonstrate the breadth of Parkview House’s appeal – from a historic community band with international prestige to a dynamic financial firm in growth mode.

“Towngate is proud to support both heritage and enterprise within Yorkshire’s evolving business landscape. Parkview House is a great example of how we can preserve the region’s industrial past while offering flexible, high-quality commercial space for the future.”
