Leeds-based planning law firm Walton & Co has marked a period of growth with a move to new city centre offices and an expanded team.

After 17 years at its previous premises, the firm has relocated to 4 York Place, occupying a modern 1,500 sq ft space designed to bring the entire team onto one floor.

James Cook, director at Walton & Co, said: “The investment we’ve made in the fit-out and related technology underlines our commitment to Leeds city centre and to ensuring both staff and clients have a seamless experience with us. This modern space will help drive better collaboration as we continue to grow.”

The firm’s office move coincides with team growth, with headcount rising from seven to nine over the past year following the appointment of a senior associate and a legal apprentice. Walton & Co now employs three directors, three fee earners, one apprentice and two support staff.

Cook added that despite policy changes and economic uncertainty, demand for specialist planning law advice remains strong. “The planning system remains complex to navigate, and that’s reflected in the level of new instructions we’re receiving,” he said. “Our new office and latest recruitment mark the next step in the firm’s progression, and our commitment to offering training opportunities within a niche practice.”
