Leeds-based International Personal Finance (IPF) has delivered a strong third-quarter performance while confirming that talks are continuing with BasePoint Capital LLC over a potential takeover.<\/p>\n
BasePoint, a US-based investment firm, has completed due diligence and is progressing with plans to raise finance for a possible cash offer for the consumer credit group. The takeover panel has agreed to extend the deadline for BasePoint to declare its intentions until 519 November 2025. By that date, BasePoint must either confirm a firm intention to make an offer for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of IPF, or announce that it does not intend to proceed.<\/p>\n
IPF emphasised that there remains no certainty any firm offer will be made.<\/p>\n
The update came as the lender reported double-digit growth across all three divisions in the third quarter. Customer lending rose 14%, supported by robust consumer demand and the continued delivery of the group\u2019s Next Gen strategy, which aims to expand access to credit in underserved markets.<\/p>\n
Overall customer numbers increased 2.3% year-on-year, marking a return to growth, while net receivables climbed 14% to \u00a31.01bn.<\/p>\n
IPF said the acceleration in lending led to a modest rise in its annualised impairment rate, from 8.3% to 9.8%, but stressed that credit quality and repayment performance remained strong.<\/p>\n
The group also highlighted its solid balance sheet and \u00a3141m of new bank facilities secured so far in 2025, including \u00a358m in the latest quarter.<\/p>\n
Chief executive Gerard Ryan said: \u201cWe\u2019re seeing good demand across our markets and excellent repayment performance. Our Next Gen strategy is delivering tangible results, supporting financial inclusion and sustainable returns for our stakeholders.\u201d<\/p>\n
