{"id":2145553,"date":"2025-10-24T09:28:49","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T08:28:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/yorkshire\/?p=2145553"},"modified":"2025-10-27T06:49:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T06:49:14","slug":"planning-secure-for-dishooms-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/yorkshire\/news\/2145553-planning-secure-for-dishooms-debut","title":{"rendered":"Planning secure for Dishoom&#8217;s debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Town Centre Securities has gained planning approval for Dishoom\u2019s new restaurant at Vicar Lane, Leeds \u2013 marking the Bombay-inspired group\u2019s debut in the city.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"532\">Taking over the former Flannels unit, Dishoom will occupy a prominent 8,000 sq. ft space across two floors in one of Leeds\u2019 busiest retail and leisure districts, positioned between Victoria Gate and the Victoria Quarter.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"534\" data-end=\"943\">The new restaurant will pay homage to Bombay\u2019s iconic Irani caf\u00e9s, blending traditional design details with contemporary flourishes to create an atmospheric and immersive dining experience. Guests can expect Dishoom\u2019s signature storytelling through d\u00e9cor, service and food \u2013 from the famous Bacon Naan Roll to its slow-cooked House Black Daal \u2013 alongside a special dish created exclusively for Leeds diners.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"945\" data-end=\"1300\">In keeping with Dishoom\u2019s \u201cmeal for a meal\u201d initiative, the Leeds site will continue the brand\u2019s mission to give back. For every meal served, a meal is donated to a child in need through partnerships with Magic Breakfast in the UK and The Akshaya Patra Foundation in India. Across its 11 UK caf\u00e9s, Dishoom has already donated more than 25 million meals.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1302\" data-end=\"1361\">Charles Newman, associate sirector, Estates at TCS, said: \u201cWe are thrilled that planning approval has been granted for Dishoom\u2019s arrival in Leeds.
