Airline and tour operator Jet2 has delivered another record-breaking set of half-year results, despite a late-booking market and ongoing economic uncertainty.<\/p>\n
In the six months to 30 September 2025, the Leeds-headquartered airline and tour operator reported a 5% rise in group revenue to \u00a35.34bn and a 2% uplift in operating profit to \u00a3715.2m. Basic earnings per share increased 8% to 300.4p, while diluted EPS jumped 17% to 292.2p.<\/p>\n
Passenger numbers reached an all-time high of 14.09 million \u2013 up 750,000 on last year and 40% above pre-pandemic levels. Jet2 also maintained a strong cash position of \u00a33.35bn, reflecting what the board called the group\u2019s \u201cfinancial resilience\u201d, even after deploying \u00a3250m through its April 2025 share buyback. The group also announced a further \u00a3100m share buyback.<\/p>\n
Jet2 is continuing to invest for growth, with encouraging performance reported at its new operating bases in Bournemouth and London Luton, and 23 Airbus A321neo aircraft now in service as part of its fleet renewal strategy. Jet2\u2019s fully automated Retail Operations Centre is also fully operational.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead, Jet2 has confirmed plans for a major strategic expansion, with a new base set to open at London Gatwick for Summer 2026. The airline has secured slots for six aircraft after the airport released additional capacity, creating access to a further 15 million potential customers. The base will become Jet2\u2019s 14th in the UK.<\/p>\n
Winter 2025\/26 capacity is 7.7% higher year-on-year at 5.5 million seats, with the late-booking trend seen over summer continuing. Full-year expectations remain unchanged and are in line with market forecasts, excluding start-up costs at Gatwick.<\/p>\n
Chief executive Steve Heapy said the results demonstrated how Jet2\u2019s \u201cflexible operating model can adapt to changing consumer behaviour.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cCustomers may be booking later, but it is clear they still want their well-earned holidays in the sun with a brand they can trust,\u201d he said. \u201cOur differentiated, service-led, end-to-end product offering continues to set us apart.\u201d<\/p>\n
Heapy also praised colleagues for their role in the group\u2019s success, adding that launching Jet2\u2019s \u201ccustomer first\u201d service from London Gatwick represented a \u201conce in a generation opportunity\u201d to accelerate growth.<\/p>\n
