Life sciences group OptiBiotix Health has reported a year of improving financial performance and strategic refocus, as it sharpens its path towards commercial sustainability and profitability.<\/p>\n
In an update for the year to 31 December 2025, the AIM-listed business posted a 30% rise in revenue to \u00a31.13m, alongside an 82% jump in gross profit to \u00a3603,000.<\/p>\n
Sales orders rose 33% to \u00a31.34m, with \u00a3212,000 carried forward into 2026, while the company ended the year with a cash balance of \u00a31.03m. It also retains strategic stakes in ProBiotix Health Plc and SkinBioTherapeutics Plc, valued at a combined \u00a36.45m at the year end.<\/p>\n
OptiBiotix continued to expand its commercial footprint. Its SlimBiome\u00ae ingredient secured a high-profile launch within Hydroxycut, a leading weight loss supplement brand in the US, while new partnerships and growing traction in Asia have seen 17 products launched and a pipeline of 74 customer projects across six countries.<\/p>\n
Post-period trading has started strongly, with more than \u00a3800,000 of orders secured in January 2026 alone. A significant 24 metric tonne order from Meelung Trading in Taiwan is set to be delivered in stages throughout the year, underlining growing international demand.<\/p>\n
However, the most notable shift comes in the group\u2019s strategy. Having spent recent years building intellectual property, partnerships and international reach, the business is now pivoting towards profitability. This includes a sharp 78% reduction in marketing and selling costs early in 2026, alongside planned savings in R&D and IP expenditure expected to deliver \u00a3500,000\u2013\u00a3600,000 in annual cost reductions.<\/p>\n
At the same time, manufacturing efficiencies are improving margins further. The company expects the cost of producing SlimBiome to fall by 31% in the second quarter of 2026, with further gains potentially reducing costs by up to 48%.<\/p>\n
A new divisional structure will also see each business unit \u2013 spanning the US, India, e-commerce and B2B \u2013 tasked with achieving cost coverage by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n
