Veterinary pharmaceuticals group Animalcare Group has reported a sharp rise in revenue and earnings for 2025, as it continues to scale its operations ahead of a recommended takeover.<\/p>\n
The York-based business posted a 20% increase in revenue to \u00a389.1m for the year ended 31 December 2025, up from \u00a374.2m the previous year, driven largely by the contribution of its Randlab acquisition and steady organic growth across all product categories.<\/p>\n
Underlying EBITDA rose significantly by 52.6% to \u00a317.7m, with margins improving to 20.6% before R&D spend, reflecting operational efficiencies and a stronger product mix.<\/p>\n
However, reported profit after tax fell to \u00a35.1m from \u00a318.5m in 2024, when figures were boosted by gains from disposals, including Identicare and STEM. On an underlying basis, profit after tax from continuing operations came in at \u00a310.9m, compared to \u00a36.7m last time.<\/p>\n
The group maintained a solid balance sheet, with net debt broadly unchanged at \u00a39.1m.<\/p>\n
Operationally, Animalcare pointed to strong double-digit growth from its flagship brands, including Daxocox and dental products Plaqtiv+ and Orozyme, supported by new product indications and geographic expansion. The business also strengthened its footprint in Asia-Pacific, with Randlab outperforming expectations and a strategic stake taken in Australian companion animal firm InVetro.<\/p>\n
Investment in research and development increased to 4.5% of revenue as the company accelerates its product pipeline, including new biologics and pain treatments.<\/p>\n
Chief executive Jenny Winter said: \u201c2025 was a year of strategic execution and financial delivery, as we continue to build a more scalable and growth-oriented business.\u201d<\/p>\n
The results come shortly after the company agreed to a recommended acquisition by CCP Paw 2, an indirect subsidiary of funds managed by Charterhouse Capital Partners. No final dividend has been proposed as the deal progresses.<\/p>\n
