Leeds-based commercial law firm Walker Morris has passed the \u00a390m revenue mark for the first time, as rising demand across its core sectors and international work drives continued double-digit growth.<\/p>\n
For the year to 30 April 2026, the firm reported fee income of \u00a390.2m, up 11% year-on-year, marking a key step towards its \u00a3100m-plus Ambition 27 target.<\/p>\n
The latest results extend a five-year growth trajectory that has seen revenues increase by 65% since 2020\/21, underpinned by a focus on infrastructure, corporate, energy and real estate work.<\/p>\n
Alongside top-line growth, Walker Morris also delivered an 11% rise in net profit, with profit margins strengthening to a record 46% as the firm continued to invest in people, technology and capability.<\/p>\n
Profit per equity partner (PEP) also climbed to more than \u00a31.1m, reflecting what the firm described as a combination of stronger revenues and disciplined cost management.<\/p>\n
Managing partner Jeanette Burgess, now in her second year in post, said the performance reflected increasing market share in priority sectors and a growing volume of complex, cross-border mandates.<\/p>\n
She said the firm\u2019s corporate practice delivered its strongest year on record, while infrastructure & energy and real estate also posted double-digit growth. The business has also continued to build presence in defence and other emerging markets.<\/p>\n
International work now spans more than 70 countries, with the firm highlighting increased demand for advisory and transactional mandates from global clients.<\/p>\n
Key instructions over the year included advising Endless on the sale of Hovis to Associated British Foods, supporting ENGIE in a Supreme Court energy commission dispute, and acting for National Grid across its \u00a335bn infrastructure investment programme.<\/p>\n
Walker Morris increased headcount by 7% over the year to more than 530 people, with 26 internal promotions and three new partner appointments across employment, construction and planning. A further three external director hires were also made.<\/p>\n
Staff turnover has fallen to a six-year low. The firm also reported growing adoption of artificial intelligence tools, with 64% of staff now using AI to support client work and improve efficiency.<\/p>\n
The business said it remains on track to meet its Net Zero target by 2040.<\/p>\n
Burgess said: “We are advising on more complex, higher-value regulatory and cross-border matters, reflecting the confidence clients place in us. Our Corporate team has also delivered its strongest year on record, despite wider market pressures.<\/p>\n
