Jorvik Tricycles is expanding its retail footprint with the opening of a new showroom in Chester, its third UK location and latest investment in bricks-and-mortar retail.

The York-based business will open the doors to its new 4,706 sq ft showroom and workshop at Chester’s Central Trading Estate later this week targeting growing demand for accessible cycling and mobility products across the North West and Wales.

A key feature of the site is a purpose-built indoor test track, allowing customers to try out tricycles in all weather conditions. The 300 sq m course includes a roundabout, multiple exits and dual lanes designed to replicate real-world riding conditions.

Visitors will be able to test Jorvik’s full range of tricycles, including its recently launched RIDA, RIDA X and VANDRA+ models.

The opening follows the launch of a showroom in Southampton late last year and reflects the company’s continued focus on physical retail alongside its online offering.

James Walker, founder and managing director of Jorvik Tricycles, said: “Opening a third showroom is a huge achievement for us and marks another important milestone in Jorvik’s growth journey.

“Many of our customers value the opportunity to see, test ride and compare tricycles in person before making a purchase. We’ve seen continued demand across the North West and Wales through our home demonstration service, so we’re delighted to bring a dedicated showroom to Chester.”

Founded in 2014, Jorvik Tricycles has grown from a start-up operation, with Walker initially building tricycles by hand, into a multi-million-pound retailer which says it has helped more than 35,000 customers enjoy the benefits of cycling.
