Housebuilder Keepmoat has started construction on a \u00a350m housing regeneration project in North Halifax that will deliver almost 250 new homes across three brownfield sites.<\/p>\n
The developments, known as Fields Edge and Oaklands, form part of Calderdale Council’s North Halifax Transformation Programme and will bring forward much-needed housing in Ovenden, Mixenden and Illingworth.<\/p>\n
The scheme will deliver a total of 248 homes, including 53 affordable properties that will be managed by a local housing provider.<\/p>\n
Keepmoat said the developments represent an investment of more than \u00a350m and will transform previously unused brownfield land while supporting wider regeneration ambitions for the area.<\/p>\n
The projects have been supported by \u00a37.8m of funding from Homes England through its Brownfield, Infrastructure and Land (BIL) Grant programme, helping to unlock the significant remediation and enabling works required to bring the sites forward.<\/p>\n
Alongside the new homes, the development will include public open space, biodiversity improvements, tree planting and infrastructure upgrades, as well as traffic-calming measures designed to improve connectivity across the surrounding communities.<\/p>\n
Keepmoat has also committed \u00a31.4m in wider social value contributions, supporting schools, healthcare services, public transport and environmental improvements.<\/p>\n

Calderdale Council said the development would help address local housing needs while making productive use of previously developed land.<\/p>\n

Keepmoat is one of the UK’s largest partnership housebuilders and specialises in regeneration-led development.
