York-based Identity Consult has helped deliver a \u00a342m affordable housing development in Leeds city centre, transforming a stalled Build to Rent scheme into 207 affordable homes.<\/p>\n
The consultancy worked alongside social housing provider Vico Homes on the Saxton Heights development, a 20-storey scheme providing one- to four-bedroom apartments, all available for affordable rent.<\/p>\n
The project received \u00a31.2m of funding from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, alongside support from Homes England, and forms part of efforts to increase the supply of affordable housing across the region.<\/p>\n
Identity Consult said the development represented a significant milestone for its residential team, which has contributed to the delivery of more than 1,600 homes over the past year.<\/p>\n
Pete Johnson, senior director at Identity Consult, said: “Delivering high-quality affordable housing is central to our mission at Identity Consult.<\/p>\n
“It is particularly rewarding to see this project delivered as the site was a stalled Build to Rent scheme that we introduced to Vico Homes, who were keen to bring a different affordable housing offer to Leeds city centre.”<\/p>\n
Johnson said the consultancy worked with Vico Homes to acquire the site and complete a construction contract within five months, significantly faster than a typical transaction.<\/p>\n
For Vico Homes, the scheme represents its largest development to date and supports wider plans to deliver 10,000 homes over the next decade.<\/p>\n

Identity Consult employs 72 people across five UK offices and provides project management, cost consultancy and development consultancy services across the built environment sector.<\/p>\n
