family business opens purpose-built self storage facility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Newly launched Hanson Self Storage, part of the family-owned Hanson Logistics business, has opened in Huddersfield.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/yorkshire\/news\/2150116-seven-figure-funding-delivers-major-expansion-at-logistics-company\">Hanson Self-Storage received a multi-million pound investment from HSBC earlier this year to develop the site,<\/a> which is next to the Hanson Logistics operation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Set up by the team behind Hanson Logistics, which was established in 1846, Hanson Self Storage has created five new jobs to date and has plans to expand to multiple sites over the next five years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The 73,000 sq ft site has opened with 500 units available initially, across three floors, which will increase to 1,000 units once the site has been fully fitted out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Paul Pheasey, managing director of Hanson Logistics, said: \u201cWe have spent years exploring the self-storage market globally and researching the technology and customer demands that we\u2019re now seeing play out in this fast-growing industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWith Hanson Self Storage, we wanted to create an industry leading site and service that combines our operational expertise with new technology, whilst staying true to our heritage as a family-owned and family-first business.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;We have exciting expansion plans, but for now, we\u2019re pleased to be able to serve the Huddersfield region once again, for the first time directly to consumers since our home delivery service in 2005.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cat Smith, manager at Hanson Self Storage, added: \u201cDemand for self-storage is growing quickly and customers are now looking for a wider range of options.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;These include traditional short-term storage use for house moves to longer-term storage to compensate for space that new properties no longer have, as well as business owners storing commercial items.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;We\u2019re pleased to be able to offer this mix of units alongside leading edge technology, but always with a person available to help,
