The Huddersfield engineering business whose name now sits above the town’s football stadium has more than trebled its profits as it celebrates it first international venture.

Accu, which was recently named the Official Engineering Partner of Huddersfield Town, reported a pre-tax profit of £2.12m for the year to November 2025, up from £668,051.

The business also increased revenue by 24 per cent, with directors saying investment in its product range, people, online advertising and operations had helped drive the improvement.

And, in May this year it opened its first international subsidiary in the Indianapolis.

The partnership with Town has given Accu a prominent new platform in its home market, with the stadium now officially known as the Accu Stadium.

It forms part of a wider push by the Holmfirth-based engineering supplier to build its brand beyond its existing customer base.

Accu said the partnership would provide “valuable brand exposure” and reinforce its position as a trusted partner to the precision engineering industry.

The company supplies components and products to the engineering sector and has been investing heavily in its infrastructure.

Its move to a new warehouse and office has increased capacity, allowing it to hold a wider range of products and streamline its operations.

One of the biggest changes has been the expansion of consignment stock agreements with suppliers. Accu said this has enabled it to offer more products for same-day dispatch without tying up additional working capital.

The business reported a 43 per cent year-on-year increase in gross margin, helped by new product ranges, additional suppliers and the consignment stock model.

Now the company is looking beyond the UK. The US has been identified as a key growth market and Accu said plans to establish operations there had reached an advanced stage, with discussions continuing with strategic partners.

The board said the changing international trade environment and potential tariffs presented risks, but that the uncertainties had accelerated plans to internationalise the business.

Accu is also investing in technology covering logistics, operations, finance and customer service as it seeks to increase productivity and reduce manual intervention.

Further warehouse technology is planned, while the company is expanding its product range into larger and more complex items that previously could not be stocked or distributed.

The business said the UK economy remained a constraint on domestic manufacturing growth, while export markets were continuing to grow at a faster rate despite uncertain trading conditions.

The latest accounts describe Accu as being “well positioned for significant growth” in the coming years.

Its latest results mark a significant improvement on the previous year, when the business’s eight-month comparative period produced a pre-tax profit of £668,051.

Accu said its focus now was on international expansion, technology and operational efficiency, alongside building the brand through its high-profile relationship with Huddersfield Town.

Accu managing director said: “This sustained period of revenue and profit growth for Accu has been a result of ongoing investments in our global HQ here in Huddersfield to be able to serve more customers with more products, and in our talented people, with the generation of 40 new, local jobs in the last 2 years.

“Accu’s ambition doesn’t stop here and we continue to expand our offering to engineers across the globe. The Huddersfield Town partnership is a source of great pride for our team and a perfect way to raise the profile of our brand and make it synonymous with our home.”
