A long-established Yorkshire family business is set to breathe new life into its historic Shipley premises after securing a \u00a31.4m funding package from Barclays.<\/p>\n
Jack Pennington, which has been based in the town since it was founded in 1974, will use the investment to refurbish and expand its existing site, increasing operational capacity while maintaining its long-standing connection with the local community.<\/p>\n
The industrial distributor has grown from a small start-up into an established business supplying a wide range of sectors across the UK.<\/p>\n
Despite its growth, the family-owned company has remained rooted in Shipley, close to where it first began more than 50 years ago.<\/p>\n
The refurbishment will modernise and extend the company’s facilities, creating a stronger platform for future growth while retaining the character and heritage of the site.<\/p>\n
The building itself reflects more than a century of Shipley’s industrial history, making the investment as much about preserving the company’s local roots as preparing it for the future.<\/p>\n
Mark Levenston, group chief executive officer at Jack Pennington, said retaining the company’s presence in Shipley was particularly important to the family.<\/p>\n
