Twenty jobs will be created at a new aluminium manufacturing facility in Doncaster by Conservatory Outlet Group.

The Wakefield group, which comprises CO Manufacturing and CO Home Improvements, announced the expansion at its annual Gala Dinner in Malaga.

A 15,000 sq ft factory is being transformed into a purpose-built facility capable of producing aluminium products including windows and doors.

Greg Kane, chief executive of CO Group, said: “This is a very exciting milestone in our journey and brings a whole new product range to our home improvement businesses and the 30 retailers in our ever-expanding network. It’s a commitment from us to deliver products of the highest standards and at lead times that consumers will appreciate. Aluminium is also an increasingly popular choice for homeowners and businesses looking for exceptional strength, sleek aesthetics and good durability with minimal upkeep.”

The investment includes dedicated CNC machines, cutting centres and crimpers.

It is the first time the CO Group will have access to its own aluminium production capability.

The CO Retail Network has posted a 12% increase in sales across its 30 retailers across England, Wales and Scotland, according to the company.

Five members recorded more than a 25% increase in sales.

Mick Giscombe, managing director of CO Manufacturing, added: “With a lot of our sector reporting significant downturns, I’m proud to say we’re not only surviving, but actually thriving, outperforming the market in all areas.”

The Gala Dinner in Malaga attracted nearly 100 guests and was the largest event in the group’s 20-year history.

The next 12 months will also see the launch of the new Extreme window range and Flush Sash suite.

The group recently raised £15,000 for the MND Association by climbing the ten highest peaks in the Brecon Beacons.
