Wakefield-based Strong Life Care has acquired <\/span>18 purpose-built care homes from Maria Mallaband Care Homes across Yorkshire & Humber, the North East, the North West, the East Midlands and Norfolk.<\/p>\n

This deal triples the size of its business and quadruples its annual turnover. <\/span>It takes the family-owned operator to <\/span>more than 2,000 employees and 1,500 beds.<\/p>\n

The acquisition follows investment in senior leadership, operational infrastructure and digital technology, with further acquisitions already in the pipeline.<\/span><\/p>\n

Founded in 2010 by Harpreet Banwait, Strong Life Care has grown from a single care home. <\/span>Banwait was the company’s first employee, while his grandfather was its first resident, living in the family’s first care home until the age of 106.<\/span><\/p>\n

Banwait, chairman and founder, said: “This is a game-changing moment for Strong Life Care. We have tripled the size of our business and quadrupled our turnover in one landmark transaction.<\/span><\/p>\n

“But the story behind our growth is deeply personal. <\/span>I founded Strong Life Care in 2010 because my family couldn’t find a culturally appropriate care home for my grandfather. <\/span>I was employee number one, and my grandfather was resident number one.<\/p>\n

“He lived happily in our family’s first care home until the remarkable age of 106. That experience shaped everything we stand for today.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Sixteen years later, we have more than 2,000 colleagues and 1,500 beds, but our founding purpose remains unchanged: to provide the kind of care we would want for our own families.”<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of its strategy to attract top-tier talent, the group <\/span>headhunted James Hopkins as its new chief executive officer and recruited two regional managers, a head of quality and compliance, and a head of procurement.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group has also strengthened its <\/span>finance and human resources functions, appointing a new financial controller and management accountant, alongside additional payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable professionals, while bolstering its HR team.<\/span><\/p>\n

These appointments have been complemented investment in new systems and digital technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

Banwait added: <\/span>“We want to be the <\/span>care provider of choice and employer of choice in every community we serve.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Our awards, care ratings and exceptional colleague retention reflect the culture we have spent more than 15 years building. As we welcome 18 additional homes, protecting and strengthening that culture will be our priority.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This acquisition is a major milestone, but it is not the finish line. We have further acquisitions in the pipeline and the foundations in place to support our next chapter of growth.<\/span><\/p>\n
